Best Hotels in Bratislava, Slovakia
Are you looking for the best hotels in Bratislava, Slovakia?
Keep reading for my top picks on where to stay in Bratislava!
I didn’t have many expectations for Bratislava. It seems to fly under the radar being close to other more popular European capital cities like Vienna and Budapest. But I was so pleasantly surprised!
Bratislava is a great city to spend a couple of days. Although much of the city is very modern, Bratislava has one of the most charming little Old Towns in Europe. And there are lots of fun things to do.
Things to Do in Bratislava
These are the best things to do in Bratislava:
- Go to Bratislava Castle and take in the views (the museum inside is worth a visit too!)
- Stroll through Bratislava’s small and picturesque Old Town
- Visit the Old Town Hall museum to learn about Bratislava’s history and climb to the top of the clocktower for amazing views over the main square of Bratislava’s Old Town
- Tour the Primacial Palace, a hidden gem in the Old Town
- Visit the Blue Church, a unique and whimsical pale blue Catholic church
- Eat cake at Konditorei Kormuth, the most beautiful cafe in Bratislava
- Visit the Slovak National Gallery to see some interesting art
- Walk through St. Michael’s Gate, the last remaining medieval gate that was a fortified entrance to the city — you can also go inside and climb up to a small viewing balcony
- Take a scenic cruise on the Danube if you’re visiting in the warmer months
- Check out Bratislava’s Christmas markets if you’re visiting in December!
How many days in Bratislava is enough? I recommend spending two full days in Bratislava. It’s not a huge city so that’s plenty of time to explore the city and experience the main attractions.
Now that I’ve covered the best things to do in Bratislava, let’s talk about where to stay!
Where to Stay in Bratislava
I definitely recommend staying in Bratislava’s Old Town, or very close to it.
This is where the majority of Bratislava’s tourist attractions are located, and it’s the prettiest and most historic part of the city. I stayed at a hotel that was a short walk away from the Old Town, which was fine, but if I were to go back I would choose a hotel that is actually located within the Old Town.
Here are my top picks for where to stay in Bratislava, Slovakia:
- Best luxury: Grand Hotel River Park
- Most charming: Marrol’s Boutique Hotel
- Best mid-range: AC Hotel by Marriott Bratislava Old Town
