Where to Stay in Krakow, Poland
Are you wondering where to stay in Krakow, Poland?
Read on for my top recommendations of the best places to stay in Krakow!
Krakow is the second-largest city in Poland after the capital Warsaw. Interestingly, it’s one of the only cities in Poland that was not almost completely destroyed by the Nazis during World War II. Krakow retains a lot of its historic architecture in the Old Town as well as in Kazimierz, the Jewish Quarter.
When visiting Krakow, I recommend staying close to the Old Town. This is the most central location in the city, and everything is very walkable, so you’ll be able to get around Krakow easily from here.
Here are some of the best things to do in Krakow:
- Explore the Old Town including Rynek Główny, the main square
- Tour the city by golf cart to discover Krakow’s highlights
- Visit the impressive fortress and castle at Wawel Royal Castle
- See the fire-blowing Wawel Dragon statue behind the castle
- Learn about the sobering history of the Holocaust at Auschwitz-Birkenau
- Explore the historic Jewish Quarter of Krakow
- Visit Schindler’s Factory to learn about the story that inspired the film Schindler’s List
And now let’s talk about where to stay in Krakow.
Where I Stayed in Krakow
I stayed at Stradom House, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, while in Krakow.
I really loved this hotel and would highly recommend it for your stay in Krakow! It’s in a very central part of the city just a couple of minutes from Wawel Royal Castle, a five-minute walk to the Jewish Quarter, and a 10-minute walk to the Old Town. So it makes the perfect base for exploring Krakow!
The hotel is super luxurious and modern — I loved the rooms and bathrooms.
Stradom House also has a swimming pool and spa. All guests can use the pool, sauna, steam room, cryotherapy pool, and sound bath room. Spa treatments like massages and facials can be booked as well.
Since I was visiting in December, the hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. I loved how festive all of Poland felt during the holiday season, and Krakow (and this hotel) were no exception!
