Where to Stay in Milan, Italy
Are you wondering where to stay in Milan, Italy?
Milan is Italy’s second-largest city after the capital, Rome. Located in northern Italy, Milan is known for being the business and finance hub of the country. It’s also a major center for art, fashion, and design.
Some of the top things to do in Milan are:
- Visit the Duomo di Milano, the most impressive church at the center of the city.
- Stroll through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a stunning luxury shopping arcade.
- See Da Vinci’s famous painting The Last Supper (book tickets far in advance!)
- Tour Teatro alla Scala, a beautiful and historic opera house in Milan.
- Try a delicious panzerotto (similar to a small calzone) from Panzerotti Luini.
- Go on a day trip to beautiful Lake Como or Lugano, Switzerland.
What area of Milan is the best to stay in? I recommend staying in the Centro Storico, the most central and historic part of the city close to many of Milan’s tourist attractions. For convenience, the area around Milano Centrale (the main train station) is a good place to stay that has some affordable hotels.
