Where to Stay in St. Kitts: My Top Picks for Every Budget!
Are you wondering where to stay in St. Kitts? I just got back from visiting this beautiful Caribbean island, and I’ve pulled together all the best options of where to stay on the island for travelers on every budget.
From luxury resorts to budget-friendly hotels, St. Kitts has something for everyone.
St. Kitts is the main island in the country of St. Kitts and Nevis. The smaller island of Nevis is accessible via a 30-minute ferry ride from St. Kitts. As the largest island, St. Kitts is the main hub for tourism. There are direct flights to St. Kitts from a handful of cities in the United States and Canada.
If you include cruise ship visitors, St. Kitts gets over 870,000 visitors per year. However, if you factor out cruise ships and only look at overnight stays, that number is just around 100,000 visitors per year.
I honestly think St. Kitts is extremely underrated! It’s an extremely well-rounded destination. It’s a Caribbean island, so of course you have beautiful beaches. But it’s also so much more than that!
The landscape of the island is gorgeous, with a rugged interior consisting of volcanic peaks. There’s a lot of history here, from the Brimstone Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, which was formerly used to transport sugarcane and is now a lovely journey for tourists.
If you like hiking, St. Kitts is home to some challenging but rewarding hikes, and it’s also a popular destination for snorkeling and scuba diving. You can also easily take a day trip over to Nevis from here.
Best Hotels in St. Kitts
So where should you actually stay in St. Kitts? Let’s talk about it! The island encompasses an area of roughly 68 square miles. You can drive around the entire island in about 1.5 hours — it’s pretty small!
It’s not that large, and most hotels on the island are located on the southern side, near the capital Basseterre, and the airport. This side of the island is also where you’ll find the best and prettiest beaches.

Park Hyatt St. Kitts
First up, if you’re looking for a splurge-worthy luxury hotel, I can’t recommend the Park Hyatt St. Kitts enough. This exclusive five-star hotel is tucked away on the southernmost point of the island, Banana Bay. You can also enjoy great views of the island of Nevis from the property, just a short boat ride away.
This hotel offers airy, spacious rooms, suites, and villas, including some with private plunge pools. There are two swimming pools for guests to enjoy, as well as a beautiful private beach. This is a great resort for families, with a dedicated kids’ club. There’s also a full-service spa and fitness center at the hotel.
St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort
Another great luxury hotel with reasonable prices is the St. Kitts Marriott Beach Resort. This hotel is located on Frigate Bay and features a gorgeous private beach area and multiple swimming pools, including one with a swim-up pool bar. There are also several different dining options at this expansive resort.
The rooms and suites here are comfortable and offer great views of the pools, the garden, or the sea. Some also feature private balconies. Other amenities at this hotel include a spa and tennis courts.
Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort
For a unique boutique luxury hotel, check out Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort. Unlike all of the other hotels on this list, Belle Mont Sanctuary Resort is not right on the beach — it’s in the mountains. It’s also located in the less developed northern part of the island, tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
This stunning luxury hotel offers a mountaintop haven with amazing views of the island. The rooms are laidback and elegant, and amenities include an infinity pool, an on-site restaurant, a spa, a fitness center, and tennis courts. This is a great hotel for couples or travelers looking to get away from it all and relax.
Royal St. Kitts Hotel
Royal St. Kitts Hotel is an affordable mid-range hotel that offers excellent value for money. It’s located in the popular Frigate Bay area, and although it’s not right on the beach, you just have to walk a few minutes to get there. Guests staying at this hotel will also enjoy lounging around the swimming pool.
The rooms here are airy, bright, and modern. You can choose between standard hotel rooms, suites with additional space, or apartment-style villas with full kitchens and plenty of room to spread out.
Koi Resort St. Kitts
Koi Resort St. Kitts is an excellent mid-range beachfront hotel that won’t break the bank. Part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, this upscale hotel is pretty affordable with some great amenities.
The hotel is located right on the beach and also has a nice swimming pool. Many of the rooms here feature private balconies, and guests can choose between sea views or mountain views, both beautiful.
Timothy Beach Resort
Timothy Beach Resort is the best budget-friendly hotel on the island. Although the room interiors and overall hotel facilities here are definitely a bit dated, everything is clean and you’re in a great location.
This hotel is situated on the lively Firgate Bay Beach, where you’ll find several beach bars and restaurants. It’s also close to the scenic Timothy Hill viewpoint. There’s a swimming pool and an on-site restaurant.
Seaview Garden Hotel & Residences
Finally, one more good hotel for budget travelers is Seaview Garden Hotel & Residences. This is an option I’d recommend for independent travelers who are looking for a comfortable, private place to stay without many frills. It’s a great place to base yourself for exploring all that the island has to offer.
There aren’t many amenities here (no swimming pool or private beach, for example), but all of the rooms and suites feature private balconies, and many have sea views. Some units also have full kitchens.
