My Favorite Travel Resources
These are my favorite travel resources for booking hotels, scoring cheap flights, and more. If you click one of these links and make a booking, I may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you.
Booking.com
For booking hotels, I almost always use Booking.com. It’s my favorite hotel booking website because of the Genius program, which lets you unlock really good discounts and benefits like free breakfast after just a few stays. I find all of my best deals on Booking.com, and they have a great variety of accommodations.
SafetyWing
SafetyWing is the travel insurance company I used for an entire year while traveling in Central America and Europe. For just $40 a month, I got full and comprehensive travel and medical insurance. This is a great travel insurance company, especially for long-term travelers and digital nomads.
GetYourGuide
GetYourGuide is a tours and activities booking platform that I have used all over the world. This is one of the best ways to organize day trips, tours, and other excursions when you travel. I’ve booked over a dozen activities through GetYourGuide and have always had a good experience booking through them.
Viator
Similar to GetYourGuide, Viator is another tours and activities booking platform. I have also had good experiences using Viator to book experiences when I travel, and I always check both platforms, because while there is some overlap, you may find different options or a better price on one platform over the other.
Skyscanner
For finding cheap flights, I always consult Skyscanner. What I like about this flight search engine is the ability to set “Everywhere” as your destination and see the cheapest flights from wherever you are, and the ability to see the cheapest dates to fly during any given month. It’s a great tool if you have some flexibility with your travel dates and plans, and want to see what the absolute cheapest options are.
G Adventures
G Adventures is a small group tour company I’ve traveled with twice now, once in Costa Rica and once in Morocco. If you’re looking for a group tour company rather than traveling on your own, I highly recommend G Adventures! They offer tours to hundreds of destinations for various travel styles.
Rakuten
While it isn’t travel-specific, Raukten is a cashback browser extension you can install and earn money back on online purchases. And many of Rakuten’s partners are in travel. For example, I’ve used Rakuten to get as much as 15% cashback from tours booked through GetYourGuide and Viator many times now.
