It’s impossible for me to choose just one favorite, but I do love this quote from Freya Stark, an explorer, writer, and original solo female traveler from the early 20th century: “To awaken alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world.”
Another one I love is this quote from Saint Augustine: “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” It combines two of my favorite things into a metaphor — travel and books!
