Best Hotels in Vilnius, Lithuania
Are you looking for the best hotels in Vilnius, Lithuania? Read on for my top picks!
I visited Vilnius last on my trip through all three Baltic countries. After spending time in both Tallinn and Riga and enjoying them a lot, I had high expectations for Vilnius — and the city did not disappoint!
Vilnius is a lovely capital city with a charming Old Town. Here are the best things to do in Vilnius:
- Climb to the top of Gediminas’ Hill for amazing views over the city. You can also pay to go inside Gediminas’ Hill on top of the hill, but honestly, the views from outside are just as good!
- Visit the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, an impeccably restored historic palace that houses a very interesting museum all about Lithuania’s history. This is a must in my opinion.
- Take a free walking tour to get oriented with the city and learn more about the history of Vilnius. I highly recommend booking the free walking tour from Vilnius with Locals.
- Check out the Church of St. Anne, a stunning example of Brick Gothic architecture.
- Behind the church, take a stroll through Bernardine Garden. I absolutely loved this beautiful city park which offers pathways along the river as well as scenic gardens and fountains.
- Take a day trip to Trakai Castle. You can take the train or bus yourself, or skip the hassle of logistics and take this half-day tour that includes pickup and dropoff in the center of Vilnius.
How many days for Vilnius?
I spent three full days staying in Vilnius, taking two days to explore the city and one day for a day trip to Trakai. This was a great amount of time for a relaxed visit. However, if you have limited time, you could also just spend two days in Vilnius and see all the highlights (and still take a half-day trip to Trakai.)
And now let’s get into the best places to stay in Vilnius…
Where to Stay in Vilnius
I recommend staying in the Old Town or close to it. I stayed about a 10-minute walk from the Old Town at the Courtyard Vilnius City Center, which is a hotel I would definitely recommend.
It was super modern and clean, although I do wish it had been just a bit closer to the Old Town since that’s where I ended up walking multiple times every day. However, it’s still a convenient location!
Here are my top picks for where to stay in Vilnius, Lithuania:
- Best luxury: Hotel Pacai
- Best mid-range: Courtyard Vilnius City Center
- Best budget: Old Town Trio Hostel Rooms

Another one of the best hotels in Vilnius is Hotel Pacai. This is another five-star hotel located in the Old Town in a very unique building — the hotel was at one time a 17th-century Baroque mansion!

15th Avenue Hotel
15th Avenue Hotel is a good mid-range hotel in Vilnius if you don’t want to spend too much money. It’s in the Old Town just a short walk away from all of the top tourist attractions in Vilnius.
The hotel doesn’t offer a ton of additional amenities and the rooms are on the small side, but they are clean and comfortable, making this an ideal base for budget-conscious travelers in Vilnius.
