Best Luxury Hotels in Belgrade, Serbia
Are you looking for the best luxury hotels in Belgrade, Serbia? I’ve got you covered!
I just spent a week in Belgrade, and I explored a lot of the city in that time. I’ll be totally honest, you definitely don’t need a full week in Belgrade. I was working remotely while traveling, which is why I stayed so long, but I was really only a “tourist” for a few hours per day, and on the one day I took a day trip.
I think two full days is enough for Belgrade, and add another day to that if you want to take a day trip to Novi Sad or another destination. Belgrade is a cool city, but it’s not the very best in the Balkans, in my opinion. That being said, it’s definitely worth visiting, and I’m glad I checked it out.
Belgrade is changing fast, with many new luxury developments around the city. And most of the city’s five-star hotels are quite affordable compared to what you would find in Western European cities.
Here are some of the best things to do in Belgrade:
- See Republic Square and stroll down the pedestrian-only thoroughfare Kneza Mihaila
- Explore the historic Belgrade Fortress with views over the Danube River
- Check out the impressive collection at the National Museum of Serbia
- Visit the beautiful Church of Saint Sava, one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world
- Wander the streets of Skadarlija, a bohemian neighborhood of Belgrade
- Dine at one of the restaurants along the river on the Belgrade Waterfront
- Take a day trip to the nearby city of Novi Sad, named a European Capital of Culture
And now let’s talk about where to stay in Belgrade, and the best luxury hotels in the city!
Where to Stay in Belgrade
Belgrade is a pretty large city that is fairly spread out, although it’s easy to get around. Much of the city is quite walkable, and there is an efficient public transit system of buses and trams, which are free to ride.
Stari Grad is the oldest and most central part of the city. Staying close to the city center is definitely worth it in Belgrade, so you can have easy access to tourist attractions, restaurants, nightlife, and shopping.
However, there are also nice neighborhoods outside the historic center of Belgrade. Some of the hotels below are located in other parts of the city, but all are less than a 30-minute walk from Stari Grad.
Here are my top picks for where to stay in Belgrade:
- Best on the waterfront: The St. Regis Belgrade
- Best luxury boutique hotel: SAINT TEN Boutique Hotel
- Best affordable luxury: Belgrade Art Hotel

The Bristol Belgrade
One of the best luxury hotels in the city is The Bristol Belgrade. This exclusive five-star hotel is located between the historic center of Belgrade and the new, modern, high-end Belgrade Waterfront area.
It’s the perfect place to base yourself on a trip to Belgrade, offering a luxurious oasis in the midst of the city. The rooms here are tasteful and well-appointed, with amenities like a spa and a fitness center.
SAINT TEN Boutique Hotel
SAINT TEN Boutique Hotel is another amazing place to stay in Belgrade. It’s in a lovely area surrounded by lots of nice restaurants, and close to the beautiful Church of Saint Sava. This hotel is a little further away from the historic center of the city (about a 25-minute walk to Republic Square), but I’d still recommend it.
That’s because this boutique hotel offers impeccable, comfortable rooms as part of the Small Luxury Hotels collection. Amenities here include a sauna, a spa with massage services, and a small fitness center.
The St. Regis Belgrade
The St. Regis Belgrade is one of the city’s newest luxury hotels, and it occupies a massive tower along the high-end Belgrade Waterfront development. Convenient to this historic center, this area along the Danube River is known for its many restaurants and luxe shopping, making it a new hub within the city.
As with all St. Regis hotels around the world, you can expect top-notch service and beautiful rooms (many with river views.) Amenities here include a spa, a fitness center, a pool, a sauna, and a steam room.
Square Nine Hotel Belgrade
Another one of the best places to stay is Square Nine Hotel Belgrade. You can’t beat the location of this five-star hotel, which is steps away from the lively Kneza Mihaila, Belgrade’s main pedestrian thoroughfare. You are also just minutes from tourist attractions like Belgrade Fortress and Republic Square.
This chic hotel offers airy, nature-inspired rooms with thoughtful, luxurious touches and all the comforts of home. You’ll also find a spa with a pool, a hot tub, a sauna, and a steam room, as well as a fitness center.
Prezident Palace Belgrade
Prezident Palace Belgrade is another excellent place to stay. This traditional luxury hotel is located a 15-minute walk from Republic Square and close to the bohemian district of Skadarlija in Belgrade.
The rooms here are elegant and refined, with lots of Old World charm. Amenities here include a spa with an indoor pool and hot tub, as well as a rooftop pool. This is pretty unique and something I haven’t seen at any other hotels in Belgrade, and it’s the perfect place to relax in the summer and watch the sunset.
Mama Shelter Belgrade
Mama Shelter Belgrade is a good place to stay if you are looking for a hip and playful hotel with luxurious touches. It’s in a great location right off Kneza Mihaila in the heart of Belgrade’s historic center.
You’re just steps away from tons of dining, shopping, and nightlife. The rooms here are bright, fun, and comfortable. A big highlight is the rooftop bar and terrace, which offers great views of the city.
Belgrade Art Hotel
Finally, one of the best luxury hotels in Belgrade that offers great value for money is the Belgrade Art Hotel. This hotel is also very central, right around the corner from the bustling Kneza Mihaila in Stari Grad.
The rooms here are airy, modern, and comfortable. Amenities include a sauna and a small fitness center. This is the perfect base for exploring all that Belgrade has to offer, and at an affordable price point.
