Where to Stay in Copenhagen, Denmark
Wondering where to stay in Copenhagen, Denmark?
Read on for the best options for every budget!
Copenhagen is a fantastic destination in Europe to visit. In my opinion, it’s the best of all the Scandinavian capital cities. There are so many things to do in this city, like strolling down the colorful Nyhavn, visiting Rosenborg Castle and seeing the Danish Crown Jewels, taking in the view of the city from the top of Christiansborg Palace, or spending an evening at Tivoli Gardens, the oldest amusement park in the world.
Just outside of the city, there are even more things to do, like visiting Kronborg Slot (the castle from Hamlet) or spending an afternoon exploring the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.
Copenhagen is a city that is highly regarded for its emphasis on food, style, and design. This means there are many great places to stay in the city that are very design-focused.
No matter your budget, you can find hotels and hostels in Copenhagen that exemplify Scandinavian design and offer crisp, clean accommodations for you to return to after a day of exploring the city.
The Best Places to Stay in Copenhagen
While Copenhagen is very easy to get around via public transportation, biking, or walking, I do recommend staying somewhere centrally located for your first trip. Some of the best neighborhoods to stay in are:
- Indre By
- Nørrebro
- Vesterbro
Each of these neighborhoods is centrally located, and they are all great places to stay in the city if you want to be close to the action and be a short distance from the top tourist attractions.
Copenhagen is a pricy city, though, and you can save some money by staying further out. However, there are great accommodation options for every budget located within the central part of the city.
Here are my top picks for where to stay in Copenhagen:
- Best luxury hotel: Nobis Hotel Copenhagen
- Best mid-range hotel: Axel Guldsmeden
- Best budget hotel: Wakeup Copenhagen
- Best hostel: Steel House Copenhagen
