Best Hotels in Taormina, Italy

Are you looking for the best hotels in Taormina, Italy?

Taormina is a popular vacation destination on the Italian island of Sicily. Located south of mainland Italy, Sicily is known for its unique culture, fascinating history, beautiful beaches, and delicious food. The stunning resort town of Taormina in eastern Sicily has long been one of the most popular destinations.

Located on a cliff above the Ionian Sea, Taormina offers stunning views over the water. The town itself is charming, with a long pedestrian thoroughfare running through it, lined with shops and cafes. The ancient Greek theatre in Taormina is a nod to the town’s long history, which spans millennia.

There’s a small island called Isola Bella that is connected to Taormina by a narrow sandy bridge, and this is where the most popular beach is located, although other great beaches are a short drive away.

In short, Taormina is the perfect vacation destination in Sicily if you’re looking for a charming seaside getaway. The town is pretty small, so you really could stay here for just two days and do everything, but you could also stay for longer if you want to relax, or use Taormina as a base for day trips in Sicily.

How do you get to Taormina? The nearest big city to Taormina is Catania, which is home to Sicily’s largest airport. The airport in Catania receives flights from mainland Italy, all of Europe, and even one direct flight from the United States. Catania is approximately one hour from Taormina by train or car.

Where to Stay in Taormina

As I just mentioned, Taormina is not very large. Corso Umberto, the main pedestrian street that runs through town, is only one mile long. Most of the hotels in Taormina are within a few minutes of it.

Since it’s a very hilly town, many hotels have excellent views overlooking the Ionian Sea.

Taormina is not known for being a budget-friendly destination since it’s a very popular resort town, but that being said, you can still find some pretty good deals on hotels if you know where to look. If you want to splurge, you’ll also have no difficulty finding amazing five-star hotels in Taormina either.
