Where to Stay in Athens, Greece
Athens is a large city, and I recommend staying in one of the following central neighborhoods that are closest to the main tourist sights so that you can enjoy exploring Athens on foot:
- Monastiraki
- Plaka
- Makrygianni
All of these neighborhoods are very central and close to all the action in Athens.
Kolonaki is another great neighborhood known for its luxury shopping, sidewalk cafes, and upscale atmosphere, but since it’s further away from the center, I would not recommend staying here as much.
