Best Tours in Dubrovnik, Croatia
Are you looking for the best tours in Dubrovnik, Croatia?
Dubrovnik is nicknamed the “Pearl of the Adriatic” due to its picturesque Old Town perched on the Adriatic Sea. The walled Old Town of Dubrovnik is filled with historic stone buildings with red-orange tiled roofs.
It’s not hard to see why travelers fall in love with this beautiful historic city, and why it was used as a filming location for the epic fantasy series Game of Thrones. Dubrovnik is an incredibly popular destination, especially in the summer months when cruise ships can bring thousands of travelers per day.
I first visited Dubrovnik on a cruise, but one single day was not enough time to fully experience this city, so I vowed to come back. And three years later, I did come back — this time for a full week!
I was able to spend more time exploring the city and its surroundings. You don’t need a full week for Dubrovnik, though. Two or three full days is enough time to experience all the highlights of the city.
And booking tours is a great way to enjoy unique activities and experiences in Dubrovnik.
Below I’ve highlighted some of the best tours in Dubrovnik, from high-energy outdoor activities like sea kayaking and ziplining to more low-key experiences like food and wine tours and walking tours.
I recommend booking tours through GetYourGuide to get the best price with trusted tour operators whose reviews you can read. I personally like booking tours and excursions through GetYourGuide because you can cancel or change your reservation up to 24 hours in advance without having to pay anything.
So let’s get into it! Here’s a look at the best tours in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

Best Tours in Dubrovnik:
Dubrovnik Sea Kayaking Tour
One of the top things to do in Dubrovnik is this sea kayaking tour. You can choose from morning, afternoon, and sunset times. Over the course of two hours, you’ll paddle around the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, taking in unique views of the walled Old Town and Lokrum Island from the water. You’ll also explore a hidden cave and have some free time for swimming or snorkeling before you return.
Game of Thrones Walking Tour
A lot of the hit television series Game of Thrones (based on the book series by George R.R. Martin) was filmed in Dubrovnik, and one of the most popular things to do here is take a tour of the filming locations! This two-hour walking tour takes you to some of the most famous locations from the series where key moments were filmed. If you’re a fan of the series, this is a must-do activity while in Dubrovnik.
Old Town & City Walls Guided Tour
Not into Game of Thrones as much? I would recommend a guided tour of the Old Town and City Walls instead, focusing on the history and architecture of Dubrovnik. This 3.5-hour combo tour is the perfect option. You’ll explore the Old Town and the City Walls in-depth with a licensed local tour guide. Note that admission to the City Walls (which is an additional €35) is not included with this tour.
Panorama Zipline Tour
If you’re looking for a thrilling activity that will get your adrenaline pumping, try the Panorama Zipline on Mount Srd high above Dubrovnik. I’m so sad that this wasn’t open yet when I was in Dubrovnik! You can take a cable car or hike up to this viewpoint (which I highly recommend!) but the zipline is the ultimate experience, giving you a birds-eye view as you sail over Dubrovnik and the Adriatic Sea.
Lokrum Island Game of Thrones Tour
Another Game of Thrones tour? Yep! If you have more time and want to do a longer tour, I’d recommend this three-hour tour that also visits Lokrum Island. You’ll visit all the filming locations in the Old Town, then take a 15-minute ferry ride over to the island to see some more filming locations. Note that ferry tickets and admission to Lokrum Island (which is an additional €28) is not included with this tour.
Old Town Walking Tour
I know I’ve recommended several walking tours, but this Old Town walking tour is a great option if you just want a shorter overview of the city. Over the course of 1.5 hours, you’ll discover the highlights of the Old Town and learn about Dubrovnik’s history and culture. This tour does not include the City Walls, but you can buy tickets and explore the City Walls independently if you’d like to do that later on too.
Dubrovnik Food & Wine Tour
One of my favorite things to do in a new destination is to take a food tour. Croatian cuisine in particular is unique and delicious, so this three-hour Dubrovnik food and wine tour is a great choice for you. You’ll visit four different restaurants where you’ll sample regional Croatian cuisine, finishing with a local dessert, and all accompanied by local wine. This is a tour you’ll definitely want to come hungry for!
Blue Cave & Beach Boat Tour
Dubrovnik is right on the water, so getting out on a boat is a great way to spend an afternoon here enjoying the beautiful Adriatic Sea. On this four-hour boat tour from Dubrovnik, you’ll visit two different nearby islands. You’ll have the chance to swim or snorkel in a blue-green cave and relax on beautiful Sunj Beach. Several complimentary drinks, including water, soda, beer, and wine are included at each stop.
Dubrovnik by Night Walking Tour
Finally, one more great tour in Dubrovnik is this nightttime walking tour. If you’re visiting Dubrovnik during the summer, the Old Town can be hot and crowded during the day. But the atmosphere of the city completely changes once the sun goes down. On this 1.5-hour walking tour, you’ll discover the highlights of the Old Town by moonlight at a relaxed pace, learning about the history of this fascinating city.

This guide showed you the best tours in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
I highly recommend doing a walking tour, whether it’s a general tour about the history and culture of Dubrovnik (which is what I did) or a Game of Thrones tour. Although it was not open when I was in Dubrovnik, the Panorama Zipline seems like an awesome activity if you want to get your adrenaline pumping! And if you want to delve deeper into Croatian cuisine, book yourself a food and wine tour.
Enjoy your trip to Dubrovnik!
